来週はとある百貨店で展覧会。展示する50点、額、箱などの準備も明日完了。梅雨も猛暑も困るけど、そんなシーズンだから仕方ない。
展示作家の1人、篠田桃紅。美術の評価は国や時代によって違うというが、生きている間に評価される芸術家は幸せ。この方の評価も、書、日本、東アジアの美術の評価と連動し、今後どうなっていくか。興味深くもバカバカしくもある。作品はじっと静かにしているだけなのに。。。
Next week, I'll organize an exhibition at an art gallery of a departmentstore, 50 works. Framing and making boxes of those will be ready tomorrow. Rain and terrible heat are problems, but unavoidable.
One of the artists to be exhibited is Toko SHINODA. The rating of art depends on the country and times, so the artists being valued when they are alive are very fortunate. How will SHINODA's artistic value be interlocking with value of calligraphy, Janapnese and East Asian art? It is interesting, but ridiculous to imagine such things. Anyway, her works are always silent.
